"Use it up, wear it out, make it due ,or do without..."
We grew up hearing this both at church but in our home as well. Now this has come back around. Interesting. My mother has said that whats old is new again, same with this motto.
It is no secret that I have been really depressed this winter (more than I have for a number of years) . One of the ways I have been trying to get myself "out of this funk" is to keep busy and to simplify and to dejunk my house. My husband was out of town for a couple of days and while he was gone I worked on this little cupboard. It has been used for everything over the years .it has stored tapes and office supplies, fruits and veges and more recently it has become the cupboard to store supplies for our dog. Over the past 25 yrs it has gotten pretty trashed, I should have taken a before picture. Oh well an after picture will have to due.
Oh! Love your cupboard--it's gorgeous (and would looks wonderful in my own home...heh...).
ReplyDeleteAnd I was wondering--do you regularly take Vitamin D3? For me, it makes *all* the difference. I used to get depressed every winter but now winter just seems to zoom by happily (mostly). I take 1,000 mg's of Vitamin D3 each night before I go to bed and it helps me sleep, too. You might want to get tested to see if you're low in Vitamin D and may need to take more. I also take Vitamin B complex each day--I call them my happy pills--and they work miracles, too. Just a suggestion--again, they've helped me to not dread winter so you've gotta love that! :) Best wishes, Debra
Debra,
ReplyDeleteI have been taking "Sunshine in a bottle" (Vitamin D) for a few weeks now. And it seems to be helping. I have not taken Vitamin B. however I have heard good things about it. I didn't know you could be tested to check for those things... I may need to shop around for another Dr. Mine is very low key , non pushy Dr. I almost feel silly going in to see him for a physical even when I have lots of concerns.
Thanks for the suggestions.

the cabinet looks really nice. You do such a good job in making things look new.
