Jacob

We have a new dog in our lives...
after we lost Sadie last December our neighbor told us to go look at some animals. We took a day before Christmas and went to the pound looked around for awhile and both of us were sobbing. Too soon for us.

Time slowly moved on and we talked about a new dog, looked at the paper and the nickel ads ,petfinder ect. but nothing looked right. we seemed to be getting more depressed as time went on ,something was missing in our lives. ( neither of us have ever been  without some sort of animal in our lives) . but the time had to be right. Eventually my husband said that if a boxer or Dalmatian ever came up we would go look at them. well the next week a dalmatian came up at pep overpopulation , there is an pre adoption process to see if you would qualify .we waited two weeks before filling out the paperwork. recieved a reply and a few letters later they said we would be a good placement for this dog. We sat on this for another couple of weeks along with a few arguments about us not needing a dog. finally my husband agreed to go look (only look mind you). Well we went for a "meet and greet" and met Jack a black and white dal. we walked him to a nearby park and he was a little skittish but oh such a sweet boy. by the time we went back to the facility we were both smitten. (especially my husband, he is such a softie). After taking him home he changed his name to Jacob. and now the fun is just beginning.
Jacob is about 2 yrs old black and white ,very playful, and much bigger than our last dog. we are talking Marmaduke big here. He adores my husband and gets up with him everyday. being a two year old he does get into a bit of mischeif, mostly digging and rearranging our flower beds. its funny that as irritating as he can be sometimes, we must admit it is wonderful to have someone to care for again.
