Part 2
Saturday- June 6 : went to the the fairgrounds, not knowing class to take, so I brought some sticks to work on in case there wasn't anything to do. Well "Dutch" talked me into entering a yam carving contest. We were given a paper sack with a dowel, sandpaper and a plastic knife to work with. We picked out the yam of our choice and proceeded to carve. Oh how fun. the camaraderie and the banter was great. and these carve so nice, much easier than carving with soap. This would be a great project to do with kids, or a ward camp out, ect... afterwards they were put on a table to be voted on. Mine won (yea) .He was even wounded. after I got it carved I dropped it and he broke in half so I took the dowel and stuck the two parts together.
Broke for lunch: This was provided by Dutch who made up some taco's in his dutch ovens. Yum!
